Family Spotlight:
Eric and Marlowe
Marlowe & Eric met in passing in 2001 in Virginia Beach, VA at a modeling rehearsal for the Tim Reed Celebrity Gala. Marlowe was a fashion show producer looking for models, and Eric was a model at the rehearsal. Marlowe spotted Eric as one of the top models he wanted to recruit for his upcoming show. They talked on the phone briefly a week later about getting together to discuss a possible venture that never got off the ground.
Two years later, Marlowe relocated back to Maryland and got a call from friends from Virginia Beach, who was looking to get away for the weekend and visit Baltimore. So, Marlowe invited them to stay at his place for the weekend and they agreed, and asked if they could bring a friend (Eric) with them. When they arrived, Marlowe and Eric met face to face, but not knowing that they had already met. As the weekend progressed, they soon realized that they had met before but under business circumstances. Over the next couple of weeks they engaged in deep extensive conversations and non-sexual, overnight long distance visits. They quickly realized that they were a "match made in heaven". On September 22, 2003 (just 2 months later), they decided to commit to an exclusive relationship with each other.
It was a hard relationship to build being that Eric lived in Virginia Beach and Marlowe lived in Owings Mills. They made a commitment to see each other every weekend no matter what! So each weekend they either drove their cars or flew back and forward each weekend to see other. It was a very trying and stressful time in their relationship but they made it. Then, on June 12, 2004, Eric relocated to Baltimore, MD where they acquired a new place together. Now that things are more centralized, they have set forth a plan for their lives together.
Their goals are: to verbally adopt (July 2004) a youth to mentor and call their own (Brandon - age 22), to purchase a home in one year (September 2005), to get married September 2006, and then legally adopt a child (September 2007). Things are moving fast for this couple, but with their well thought plans and realistic goals, they look forward to a wonderful family and great things in the future.
