Family Spotlight:
Julie, Sara and Brant
In 1998, Julie and Brant met while both working for the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force in Washington, DC. Brant, born and raised in CT, became good friends with Julie and her partner Sara and they decided to start a family. We moved in together in 2000 and began the process of figuring out how to have a family and protect the rights of our child in a state that does not support marriage equality for same-sex couples. In June 2004, with the amazing support of our families came Dayton Lobel Childs! Dayton is now a happy, healthy and striving two-year-old. Our family is alternative, but we are amazingly happy and supportive of one another!
