Ten ways to make a difference right now:
- Invite your congregation in Maryland to join Pride in Faith
- Remember to use language that is inclusive of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people when talking about family, marriage, values, and other topics when addressing your congregation
- Form a discussion group at your congregation to provide an open forum on sexuality and gender identity and expression
- Invite a member of our Speakers Bureau to address your congregation about the importance of supporting LGBT equality and justice
- Work to help your congregation gain status as a "welcoming congregation" within your denomination
- Get involved with your denomination's national LGBT group to make sure that LGBT-supportive voices are heard in your extended faith community
- Write an op-ed piece in your local newspaper to voice your support of LGBT equality and justice
- Contact your elected officials in Annapolis and let them know you support LGBT equality and justice (click here to look up your legislators)
- Join us in Annapolis for our annual Lobby Day to meet with legislators and share a positive religious perspective on LGBT people (February 2, 2008)
- Donate to the Equality Maryland Foundation to support Pride in Faith
