Goodloe Memorial Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Bowie is now a Welcoming Congregation for BGLT people!
"Bisexual, gay, lesbian, and transgender people are warmly welcomed in our congregation," said Rev. Cynthia Snavely. "We work as partners with BGLT people toward equal rights and marriage equality. As Unitarian Universalists, we believe in the inherent worth and dignity of each person and in the value of accepting people as they are."

Dear Clergy and Lay Leaders,
If you feel that it is wrong to amend a constitution to take away rights from a group of citizens, then I am here to personally ask you to take action.
Equality Maryland, the state’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) advocacy organization, is coordinating a clergy sign-on letter opposing any amendment to the Maryland Constitution that would discriminate against one group of citizens. The letter will be delivered to all members of the General Assembly when they reconvene in January. It will also be printed with signatories on the Equality Maryland web site and submitted in a press release.
No matter where your church or synagogue, or larger denomination, stands on the issue of blessing same-gender couples, I hope you can all agree with every major civil rights organization in the United States of America that placing the rights of a group of citizens up for a popular vote is short-sighted and discriminatory.

Thank you for your support.
In partnership and equality,
